We met at work. We are both accountants and have a passion for the nonprofit community. We were friends and colleagues in a group with other coworkers and often did things together as a group outside of work, like dinners, game nights, etc. When Brian left for a new opportunity, it opened the door for friendship to blossom into a relationship. We always worked well together and that has been the same in our relationship.

We are passionate about family relationships and our careers. We both serve the nonprofit community in our jobs and outside of work through board volunteer roles. We balance work and life in many ways. One example is a commitment to have dinner together every night with each other (as a family). Brian has a passion for cooking and gets creative in the kitchen most nights of the week to provide a home cooked meal for us to enjoy together. We also host a monthly family dinner with Brittany’s local family. We cherish family time and enjoy doing various activities together like puzzling, going to shows (musicals, concerts, plays), and traveling. We have a cat, Gizmo, and he loves to bird watch and cuddle with us.

I grew up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh with my parents and younger brother and a large extended family. I’m a friendly, outgoing and funny person who loves to look at the positives. I am a CPA who graduated with two bachelor’s degrees in accounting and finance and currently work providing part time bookkeeping services to many nonprofits in our area and across Pennsylvania. Outside of work I enjoy woodworking, playing softball and cooking for us as a family. I also love to get creative in the woodshop creating many things for our home or using my tools to be a handyman around the house as well as maintaining the yard.

I am an avid learner, attending both undergraduate and graduate school and earning two professional certifications. I love to read, all varieties of genres. I enjoy baking and am often baking for get-togethers and holidays. Music has always been a big part of my life, starting in elementary school. I was in the school band and ensembles throughout elementary school, junior/senior high school, and college. I held leadership roles in high school and college for band, and minored in music in college. We have multiple instruments in our home.

Our parents are a big part of our lives and our biggest supporters. Brian has a brother, Kevin, who’s married with two kids. Brian’s parents, Bob and Julie, and Kevin and his family reside in Texas. Brittany has a sister, Amber, and brother, Paul. Amber has two kids. Brian and Brittany are actively involved with Amber’s kids, including babysitting. We are close with our families. Brian also has extended family in the area, including aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. We see them a few times a year and attend their children’s birthday parties and family gatherings.

We have almost a half-acre on a corner lot of a cul-de-sac, giving us a large side and backyard. Our house has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, an open first-floor concept, and other play spaces like a finished basement. We are close to nearby stores, restaurants, etc., but have a country feel at our house with lots of trees in our sights and areas to explore.
