Meet Adam and Salena
Hello! We are Adam and Salena!
We would like to thank you for taking the time to get to know a little more about us!
We have been married for 17 years and live in a small rural community. We both enjoy the quiet life of country living, gardening, raising chickens, playing with our animals and spending time with family and friends.. We are very active in our local church and are very close to our families. Our desire to grow our family is rooted in our faith and our daily walk with the Lord. The relationship we have with God is our foundation and Scripture is our guide. We desire to give a little one a safe and loving home where they can experience God's love and the joys that this life has to offer. This desire is one that has been with us for many years.
Through our profile we hope you are able to get a sense of the love that we have for each other, our family, friends and future children. We are so excited to become parents and welcome a child into our home and family.
We want you to know we are praying fervently over you and your upcoming decisions. We are looking forward to the possibility of hearing from you and getting to know you along with the prospect of being blessed through adoption with a little one.
God bless,
Adam & Salena
Our Beginning
Our journey started back in 2005 as high school sweethearts. We met in high school when Adam took notice of Salena at her after school job at our local Burger King. Adam and his friends would frequent Burger King, being it was the only fast food in town, and it was cheap. Adam noticed Salena immediately and began to ask questions putting pieces of the puzzle together of who she was. Being from a small town he was able to get her phone number and called her on a Friday evening in early September. Since September 17th, 2005, we have been in each others life, and we were married in 2008. After getting married, we both moved to Camp Lejeune, NC where Adam was stationed in the USMC. We returned back to the Western PA area in 2011.
Our Lives Together
Our everyday lives are what we call very ordinary. We both work full-time jobs and maintain our little homestead. We are both born again followers of Jesus Christ and are happy people. At home we like to garden and play with our pups. We also enjoy looking after our small flock of chickens. We both enjoy reading good books, working around the homestead, traveling out west for hiking and watching the NHL, especially our Pittsburgh Penguins. We maintain close relationships with our families and enjoy visiting with friends.
About Adam
Adam grew up in rural western Pennsylvania with his parents and three older siblings. Adam is a very outgoing and active guy. He enjoys spending time outdoors hunting, hiking, camping, and doing habitat work at our family farm. Adam also enjoys tinkering in our garage and bee-keeping. Adam currently works as a diesel mechanic for a local railroad and spends time throughout the week serving at our church. Adam is currently working on a Master of Divinity (MDiv.) in Christian ministry and will then pursue a job in full time ministry. Adam enjoys studying theology, reading good books, learning about creation, and spending time with family and friends.
About Salena
Salena was born and raised in rural, western Pennsylvania. Salena is a homebody at heart. She enjoys living the quiet life and spending time doing things around her home. Salena especially enjoys DIY projects, baking, reading and crafting. In the summer months, she enjoys spending time outdoors playing with their 2 dogs, Boaz and Ezekiel, and working in the garden or flower beds. Salena is also invested in the ministry of our local church where she serves in children's ministry, women's ministry and as a greeter for Sunday mornings. Salena works as a registered nurse in an outpatient surgical unit and enjoys being able to care for people in some of their most vulnerable times. Salena also enjoys spending quality time with extended family regularly.
Our Families
We are very blessed with the family we have. We are both close to each other's parents and siblings. We get together with Salena's family on Friday evenings for supper and eat lunch with Adam's parents every Sunday after church. We are in contact with our families regularly and spend the holidays together splitting time between both of our families. We also have regular family get-togethers such as cookouts or vacations throughout the year. All of Adam's siblings and their families live in the midwest now (Iowa and Missouri) but we are still in contact with them frequently. Our church family is also very important to us and an integral part of our lives. Our extended families have prayed for us and are very supportive and excited with anticipation as we embark on this journey of adoption.
Our Home
Our home is located at the end of our neighborhood which is made up of small family homes and is in a rural setting. Our neighbors are all friendly people and look out for one another. Our property sits tucked back in for a nice secluded private yard. Our house is a ranch home with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths with a full-sized basement and 2 car detached garage connected to our front deck. We have a large yard consisting of several acres bordered by trees and a large pasture where our neighbors pasture cows and horses. Our house and yard are secluded, which is nice for privacy and yet we are still relatively close to our neighbors. This also makes for a safe place for our pups to play and would be a wonderful place for a child to play and run and enjoy a safe place to grow up.
