Meet Tyler and Rachel

Our dream of starting a family was one of our favorite topics to talk about when we were first dating and newly married. We were eager and excited to start this journey together to become parents.  Shortly after we started down this road, we hit a few bumps that have impacted our lives in ways we never imagined.  We have been blessed with five angel babies due to having four miscarriages and a stillbirth.  Arabella Rose, our sweet baby girl, was born prematurely after a battle with preeclampsia.  Although her life was brief, Arabella Rose has made an impact on our hearts and lives that will never be forgotten.  Our desire to raise a family together has never changed.  We know that our story is just beginning and we are excited to see how God will use this for His glory.  We are thankful for all of our angel babies and we know all four were truly blessings.  We have watched God change our hearts and desires to starting this journey of adoption. We are excited to watch our family grow one blessing at a time.

About Tyler

Tyler grew up in upstate New York.  He currently works in the accounting department at a large wireless infrastructure company.  Tyler loves all types of sports- his favorites being baseball and basketball.  He participates weekly in pick up basketball and loves his daily workouts at the gym.  Tyler enjoys cooking dinner, whether it is just for Rachel or for bigger gatherings, such as  holidays or our annual Friendsgiving dinner.  He also enjoys being outside on a nice bike ride, hiking through the woods, camping for the weekend or just going for a walk.  Tyler looks forward to sharing his love for sports (especially the Boston Red Sox) and the outdoors with our future children.

About Rachel

Rachel grew up in Amity, PA and has spent most of her life in the Washington County area.  She currently works for a HVAC company doing payroll/billing.  Her dream job is to be a stay at home mom and she is excited to begin that new chapter.  Rachel enjoys using her creativity for crafting and trying new baking recipes.  She likes to workout at the gym and also spend time outside.  Rachel loves holidays and birthdays and greatly looks forward to decorating, baking, cooking and spending time with friends and family during these special times.  She is excited to celebrate these moments with our future children and make many memories in the process.

Our Beginning

We met at Waynesburg University during our freshman year through mutual friends.  We enjoyed spending time together and getting to know each other.  After the first semester, Tyler transferred to a school in New York- closer to home.  We talked for the remainder of freshman year and became closer friends.  Over the summer going into sophomore year, we visited each other and we started dating.  We dated long distance for a little over a year and then Tyler popped the question!  We were apple picking at a local orchard.  The ring was inside of a fake apple and he got down on one knee and it was so romantic!  We started planning the wedding for the following November.  We continued to write letters and have our weekly Skype dates.  We saw each other every few months and our relationship grew deeper.  Rachel graduated a year early from college and moved up to New York.  We got married in November and it was the perfect fall day!  We have been married for 4 years and we are still so in love.  We are each other’s best friend, and we love doing life together!

Our Lives Together

After a year engagement, we got married in November in Washington.  We lived in upstate New York for a few months after we were married, but then we decided to move back to Washington area.  We currently reside in the Cecil area, about 20 minutes north of where we got married.  Our daily lives are pretty routine.  We both work during during the day, however, Rachel looks forward to being able to be a stay at home mom.  After work, we enjoy going to the gym together.  Once we get home from the gym, Tyler uses his amazing cooking skills to make a delicious dinner.   Rachel also likes to cook alongside Tyler, however Tyler’s dinners are too hard to pass up sometimes! After dinner, we like to unwind and talk about our days before heading off to bed.

When we aren’t working, we enjoy going for bike rides on the trail by our house, hiking and going on various road trips!  We love watching the Boston Red Sox play, and we are working on going to every baseball park in the country.  We enjoying playing games and hanging out with our family and friends.  We love spending time together, and enjoying the simplest moments together.

Our Families

Tyler comes from a small family.  He has a younger brother, Chadd, who lives in Philadelphia.  Chadd is engaged and will be getting married in November.  His parents live in upstate New York, in Tyler’s childhood home.  We visit as much as we can, which can be challenging due to the distance.  However, weekend trips often turn into family get togethers when we all meet at a central location to spend  time together.  We go to the beach every summer with Tyler’s family, and it is always a blast spending time together and making memories.  We always find time to visit around the holidays!

Rachel comes from a larger family.  She has three siblings- Felecia, Drew and Steven.  Felecia is married to her husband Aaron and they have an adorable Golden retriever name Indy.  Drew is married to his high school sweetheart, Rikki and they have a 1 year old son Merrick.  Steven is currently a junior at Robert Morris University.  Her mom lives in Washington, PA and works at a local university in the alumni office.  Rachel’s family makes it a priority to spend time together around the holidays, even though we are all so busy.  We also enjoy the occasional family game night.  Rachel has an extremely large extended family.  Her mom was 1 out of 11 children and there are 47 grandchildren in the family!  We love getting together with all of the family- it is always such a blast!

Our Home

We live in an adorable and spacious two bedroom apartment in a quiet neighborhood filled with many families.  We live less than a mile from the Montour Trail, and a cute little park!  We enjoy going to the trail for bike rides or nice walks.  We are excited to turn our spare room into a nursery one day!
