Meet Josh & Michelle
About Josh & Michelle
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little bit about us. Our names are Michelle and Josh, and we have been happily married since 2010. We love to volunteer and participate in church-related activities, attend concerts and shows, spend time with family and friends, explore new things and places, and travel (one of our dreams is to visit to England and Ireland). We also enjoy going to Michelle's family camp every year! We have tried unsuccessfully for a long time to have biological children, but we know in our hearts that we are meant to be parents. Adoption has always been a desire of ours, as Josh too was lovingly adopted as an infant and wants to be able to provide a wonderful life for a child and share his personal experiences with him or her. Michelle has wanted to be a mother for as long as she can remember, it has been her lifelong dream. We are so grateful for your consideration in choosing adoption, and us as adoptive parents. We appreciate, respect, and value every aspect of adoption. The child will know of his or her unique life journey and how much he or she is loved by both his or her biological family and adoptive family. Our wish for a child is that he or she is happy and has a fulfilling life, and that we do everything we can to provide that for him or her. We sincerely hope we can bring joy to your life as you certainly would to ours.
Michelle has worked with babies and children since she was in middle school. She is a college mathematics instructor, tutor, and loves spending time with her nieces and of course Josh and their dog! She was also a nursing student for two years. Michelle graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics. She then earned a Master's Degree in Instructional Leadership: Mathematics Education and became a certified teacher. She enjoys playing the flute and piccolo, playing games (video games, board games, card games, etc.), walking and yoga, and she has a special place in her heart for animals.
We first met in 2004 through a mutual acquaintance while Michelle was attending nursing school and Josh was a sophomore in college. We began dating a few months after meeting and have been inseparable ever since. We became engaged in July 2009 (with Josh spelling out "Will You Marry Me?" using 195 tealight candles) and got married on a beautiful September day in 2010.
We are each other's best friend. We have special nicknames for each other (Shelle and Joshie), and our daily saying to each other is "you're my favorite." We lived together for 2 years in a condo with our fur baby Ralphy before purchasing our current home in 2011. We try to make the most out of each day. Even the most mundane tasks are special to us because we complete them together. We are a team, we are always on the same page, we thrive as one unit.
Our families are of the utmost importance to us. We are very close with both sets of parents, they have shaped us into the people we are today. They absolutely cannot wait to be grandparents! Once we have a child, both sets of parents will lovingly take turns babysitting while both Michelle and Josh are working (Michelle plans on becoming a stay-at-home mom with the exception of teaching 1-2 classes per semester). We celebrate every holiday with our families, and we cannot wait to have the opportunity to share those special moments with a child. Our nieces ask us all the time when they are finally going to have a cousin to take care of and play with.
We live in a cozy, welcoming ranch in a suburban area close to the city. Our house has three bedrooms, a finished basement, a large fenced-in backyard, and a garage and driveway. We have a loving Pomeranian (named Ralphy) who has a heart of gold and greets everyone that visits. He loves kids and can't wait to be a puppy brother!
