The most important thing about myself that I would like to share is the new found hope that adoption has given Shawn and me.  During five years of dealing with infertility, my constant prayer was for God to show us his plan for our lives.  I have gone from wondering why God did not want Shawn and me to have a family, to believing that maybe he just had a more special plan for giving us our family.  As a mother, I would share every piece of who I am with our child.  Currently, I work for a large bank managing accounting and administrative staff.  I have worked for the bank for twelve years, but hope to take a few years off work to be a full-time mom.

Outside of work, my hobbies and activities keep me busy.  I love music and have played the drums since elementary school.  I play the drums for the praise band at my church.  We play contemporary Christian music each Sunday for the worship service.  I also play the snare drum for a Scottish bagpipe and drum band.  We play many local parades, memorial services, festivals and shows throughout the community.  I have a drum set in our basement, and it has always been my secret wish that I would have a child who would be a better drummer than I am!  Physical fitness has also been an important part of my life.  I ran track and cross-country in high school and continue to enjoy running today.  I have completed two marathons, and my friends have talked me into training for another marathon for 2010.  I am also very involved with the Sunday school program at our church.  I taught Sunday school for the elementary students for many years, and now I am the coordinator of the Sunday school program.  In the free time that I have left, I also enjoy scrapbooking, cooking, walking our dogs, and doing other projects around our house.  Now that I put all this in writing and realize how busy I sound, I think I will need to scale back some activities for motherhood!
